Because obviously, you’re both talented, otherwise, you wouldn’t be the last two. What you want to do is - you want to produce Content, not marketing material.

Content is something that if it solves a problem or answers a question that people are looking to have answered or solved, then you automatically, as the expert or the person that they want to hear it from, right?

So it’s the first step in gaining attention. You have to figure out your unique value. You want to take the problem and make the problem a symptom of another problem that nobody’s talked about.

And this is the pinnacle point – you don’t want to be considered the best, you want to be considered the only one who understands and solves that individual big problem because people just don’t know who to trust. This is like the big thing, and they don’t know where to go to get their questions answered.

Whether you’re selling a physical product or information product, it doesn’t matter. You want to be the expert in this thing that you want to sell. The right marketing is about positioning and creating valuable content… but the right author has these four elements:

1. To solve an urgent pressing problem
2. With a solution that is different and superior
3. That is backed up by as much proof as possible
4. With an appealing proposition that’s incredibly hard to resist.
